End of Week 1

Wow! This has been tough. My coach warned me time and time again. She even said that I didn't believe her, and I kind of didn't. But this has been difficult.

I'm still in it, though. I mean 20% done is pretty good. Some of the other stuff in my life is starting to come together. I don't really know if I can say I'm feeling any effects, yet. I am definitely getting better at the exercises. For the most part, at least. Here, have some data:

Time and overall improvement

As you can see, I spent a lot of time blogging. I just open a new tab in Notepad++ and throw it all in there and then at the end of the session paste it into blogger. Np++ doesn't have spell check, hence the errors. Anyway, you can also guess by the way the posts are getting shorter that I've been spending less time writing and that shows pretty clearly. I've also been taking more and more small breaks.

It also shows that I have been improving. It looks like a log plot so far, but hopefully I'll make a breakthrough at some point. And at least it isn't going down.

This shows you the progress on each exercise. Decoder and the input panels have been exploding. I think those had the most room to grow since they had an auditory component.

My worst is rotating data link. It's really not that hard conceptually, but I keep messing it up.

It looks like things are coming to some kind of stable point though, which means if I keep at it, I can break out.

Next week will be tough. All the low hanging fruit has been picked. That's when the sweat really starts.

Day 5

Some upsets today. Nothing major, but I do have a day off tomorrow. I've also got my coach call at some point. I haven't told her about the blog yet but I will. I'll also do a weekly wrapup.

I think it's interesting to see the kinds of errors that are being made. Like in the decoder, there might just be one missing. I've got the rest of the set but one in the middle is just not there. Then there's the out-of-sequence errors where I remember a "P" and so I hit "P" when it's an option. Then there are the times where I was just thinking about something else and totally don't know some chunk of them.

Oh yeah, didn't make it to the blood drive yesterday, but I titally will today. Squeezeball here I come.

Looks like my growth on decoder has kind of peeked. I bet I could sqeeze some more out, but I don't think I'll be seeing it after today.

Technical issue: there was a hitch one time where i hit the wrong one on data room and it took a second or two before it actually showed me the one it was supposed to be. In the rotating dots just now, I clicked a dot and it didn't respond. I figured I missed it since I was looking at a different dot when I clicked, so I clicked again. It beeped for the click and then errored buzzed for the miss.

It's a good thing this robot can't hear what I say to him when we finish an exersise. AI is going to be annoying since I can't just snap back at any artificial voice.

I kind of avalanced on that one.

I'm doing Data Room now, I kind of crashed. I keep hitting a neighbor (not like I try to click on the right one, I just remember the wrong one).

Maybe it's that since they're close together, I should be moving my eyes. I like to keep them still so that I don't miss the big jumps. Like tracking a fly is easier you don't try to keep your eye on it. If you try to guess where it's going, you'll miss it.

It has helped that I sort of make a path that turns on the dots instead of seeing static shapes.

Wow, getting up there on the input panel. Just made 8.

Doing the rotating panel. They're only 4 or 5 long, but I keep missing the first one. I don't have to think about the rotation at all, the same way I don't have to think about the spinning one. It's just kind of annoying.
